The Atlantis in Nassau on Paradise Island. The best hotel I have ever stayed at and I have been to over 15 countries. I love the Atlantis. You can probably get a good room for about $ 500-$ 25,000 a night. Oh sorry out of those CocoCay!!!!! I love RCL! Best ever! Have fun!

I went to the Bahamas and stayed on Grand Bahama Island.

I’ve stayed on Grand Bahama island a couple of times and on Bimini. I loved the trip to Bimini because we took a float plane there and landed in the water, driving up to the runway from the ocean. Very cool. Bimini is small, has great diving and bone fishing, and a great little bar with a sand floor. It’s so small that once you’ve been there for a few days, you practically have seen everyone who lives there!
Grand Bahama is much bigger, is the main island of the Bahamas, has lots of resorts and hotels and restaurants and traffic. So there’s a lot more to see. Where you travel kind of depends on what you want to do on your vacation.

I want to take a short cruise to an Island and stay in a hotel for a couple of days on the Island. So I want to do a little of both. Last year we took the Discovery Sun Cruise to Grand Bahama Island and stayed in a hotel for 4 days. We had a good time. I want to go some place different than the Bahamas this time, but I would like another trip somthing like this.

if you’re going to stay in Nassau, it will be expensive….the last time I went I stayed at 3 different hotels…Sheraton, Paradise harbour club & marina and this hell of a hotel called colony club(which costs about $ 75 per night).
I would not recommend colony club, it is more for the local people. The sheraton was great, but costs about $ 130 per night not including resort fees which is $ 30.
Staying on Freeport would probably be cheaper because new providence and paradise island is expensive, not to mention staying in Atlantis. Paradise harbour club and marina was a good deal, they offer upgrades of rooms if the season is slow(it is also more private).
I thought my stay was too expensive for what I got, $ 3.90 for a bottle of gatorade at the gas station….outrageous..also decide if you are going to rent a car or scooter when on the island.
