Q&A: I want to vacation in the Bahamas and fly into Nassau. What are my Starwood Hotel options?

None really. The only Starwood hotels in the Bahamas are in Grand Bahama Island. Are you looking at Starwood to use points, or for some other reason? In Nassau, depending on what you’re looking for, I’d recommend the Radisson or the Riu or Atlantis in Paradise Island.

Hope this helps, but contact me if you have more questions.

I want to charter a boat from Fort lauderdaleFL to Nassau Bahamas one way with a bunch of friends. Every thing?

Question by exotic traveler: I want to charter a boat from Fort lauderdaleFL to Nassau Bahamas one way with a bunch of friends. Every thing?
I want to charter a boat from Fort Lauderdale FL to Nassau Bahamas one way with a bunch of friends. Every thing I search shows up as going there on trips like 3 days. I just need a boat to go there and be dropped off and come back in like 4-5 days by another boat, is this possible? I want to go to to Nassau not Grand Bahama. We are all college students so want to have a night life which Grand Bahama does not? We are going in December, so is there a way to do this or do we have to take a plane?

Grand Bahama island DOES indeed have a “nightlife” and I personally think it has exactly what your looking for !
Directly across the street from Our Lucaya resort ( great place to stay ) is a rather large “village” with tons of bars and such. Its fairly new ,complete with neon lights, colorful bars and cobblestone streets. There is a casino right there as well. Irish bars, sports bars, upscale dining, dive bars – you name it ! It is pretty much built just for partying. Our Lacaya resort built it I think – just for their guest’s.

On Wend. nights there is a fish fry on Tanio beach. Place is hopping !! Killer little ,local street vendors that set up and cook. Located right on the beach with a few bars cranking out drinks and music ! I think I paid about $ 12 for a taxi from Lucaya to Tanio beach.
Here is the ferry to take you there.

Here are some of my photos of the island and what to expect.

Q&A: Carribean vacation: just want nice pools at the hotel and great beaches?

Question by Lu: Carribean vacation: just want nice pools at the hotel and great beaches?
Hi there, I’m planning a family vacation to the Carribean. We have a 3 year old and just want to unwind. We’d prefer a place where it’s kid friendly but if the beaches and pools beat it we’ll go there.
We originally booked a trip to the Grand Bahama at Sheraton hotel, but due to the possibly comming hurricaine, put it on hold.
So please let me know where we could go, I’d appreciate that very much. We are not planning to party or anything, but would like to see locals perform in the evening, bonfires, maybe horseback riding and just discovering the island on a rented jeep or something..

Thanks again

Consider the St. Kitts Marriott. This hotel has 3 great pools. The island has plenty to explore, there is horseback riding, thursday night bonfires at a place called Mr. X’s,great snorkeling, and lots of secluded beaches. The island is in the process of major development and offers a more ‘island’ atmosphere. There are great restaurants, but the best place to stay by far is the Marriott.
